Objective Clay Holiday Exhibition

Elephant Cup, made by Samantha Henneke, Bulldog Pottery, Seagrove, North Carolina

Objective Clay invited us to participate in their first holiday online exhibition.  We have three pottery pieces each that we chose to be a part of this show.

Objective Clay is made up of 14 potters who were the demonstrators at the Utilitarian Clay Conference of 2012.  We were lucky to be able to attend the conference at Arrowmont in Gatlinbug, TN.  We met many potters there, and were impressed by the caliber of the presenters.  Blair Clemo, now a teacher at VCU, is an honored cousin from Cousins in Clay 2013 (along with Dan Anderson). Every member of Objective Clay invited someone to be apart of the exhibition and Blair invited us. Thank you Blair!  Blair makes really exciting pots, and has a great way of demonstrating the techniques he has developed.  Blair made a Ceramics Arts Daily video you can purchase, called "Simply Oranate".   We selected six pieces from our recent reduction gas firing. Bruce chose a pitcher, cup and mug with new ash and spodumene glazes, and I  chose an elephant cup and plate, and one of our matte crystalline glazed vases.
The Ultilitarain Conference is every 4 years and is hosted by Arrowmont. They have announced next years line-up. We hope we will be able to go.

The Objective Clay online exhibition goes live on November 20th. You can find out the details at their the Objective Clay website.

We are looking forward to this weekend--November 20-22, 2015!

The Celebration of Seagrove Potters will be in full swing. We are always thrilled and amazed at all the pots our rural community can produce.  There is a lot of talent here,  and visiting the Seagrove Potters this weekend is a great time to touch base with the majority of us in one location. It only happens once a year, for the rest of the time we have pottery shops open to the public with hours that are individual to each shop. The most common hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10-5 with some of us open on Sunday and Monday.

We will be open at our Bulldog Pottery shop as well as being at the Celebration of Seagrove Potters.

Big weekend for all of us here in Seagrove, North Carolina

The 8th Annual Celebration of Seagrove Potters, held annually the weekend before Thanksgiving, is next weekend, November 20-22, 2015. …. We get to hang out with our Seagrove Pottery neighbors all under one roof at the historic Luck's Cannery. The building is transformed into a beautiful showplace for Seagrove potteries to celebrate the potter's art.

The Friday night evening Gala kicks off the Seagrove Potters weekend at the Historic Luck's Cannery,   November 20, 6pm - 9pm.   Purchase your Celebration tickets here.

The Friday night Gala features a catered reception -- a delicious spread of heavy hors d'oeuvres, music and the popular "Seagrove Potters' Collaborative Auction".   This is your opportunity to browse and shop the booths and have first pick of the pots before the marketplace opens Saturday morning.  The Friday evening ticket will also admit you to both Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday10am-4pm. This is definitely the place to be if you like pottery. There is something for everyone's tastes.

Our Bulldog Pottery shop (3306 US Hwy 220, 5 miles south of the traffic light in Seagove) will also be open during the entire weekend.  For more information call 336-302-3469 or 910-428-9728 or www.bulldogpottery.com
