Ben Owen III threw the jardiniere pictured above and Michael Mahan designed the rope pattern imprinted on the piece. Many of the potters participating in the upcoming Celebration of Seagrove Potters signed the piece around the outside of the jar. This collaboration Jar will be up for auction along with many others the evening of the Gala, November 21st. For tickets to the evening's event, visit the Celebration's website. We are all looking forward to this upcoming weekend at the Historical Luck's Cannery, and there are many special events planned for the weekend. Stay tuned and I will fill you in on some of the talks that will be happening at this inaugural event in Seagrove, North Carolina. It is a weekend that you don't want to miss. Please come join us!

It's actually a tree with the limbs spreading around the pot. I haven't seen the finished piece, but if you could turn the pot around in the picture, you'd see the tree forms at the bottom of the pot and grows up and around the pot.

Hey Michael! Thanks for coming up with such a great idea. The collaboratives for the Celebration has been a great way of getting us out of our studio and working with one another. I can't wait to see them all together! Five more days left.
The are all photographed and on the web site now. at least all that we know of that are done! I still have to make an auction item, been so busy with everything else I let it get away from me!
