Last night we were invited to attend Montgomery County's annual Business of the Year Awards Ceremony and Banquet. They awarded Bruce and I with Artists of the Year. This was a great surprise to Bruce and I and a real honor. We live in the northeast corner of Montgomery County, and around 10 minutes or so from the edge of the Uwharries National Forest. Montgomery County is also one of the three counties that contains the Seagrove pottery community. A good portion of Montgomery County is the Uwharries National Forest. There is paddling, hiking, biking, fishing, and hunting opportunities here for the nature lover. One of these days Bruce and I will make time to go and explore the woods, rivers, and lakes that are so close to us. Montgomery County's motto is the Golden Opportunity. There used to be gold mining here. Bruce would love to find a gold nugget to put with his other finds from the property. He brings home glass bottles, broken salt glazed sherds, arrowheads, rocks, sticks, quartz rock, marbles, and other odds and ends. We feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful place to call home, and feel blessed at how warmly we have been embraced by our community.

Congratulations!
You both deserve it and I am so glad that Montgomery County recognized that. What a nice surprise and so nice to know that your community values you!
Good for you!
Congratulations!
Thanks to all of you for your postive affirmations. It means a lot to us.
There aren't many potters that make my students go "WOW' when they see the work. The artists of Bulldog can make even the most cynical of teens impressed as the dickens! Congrats to both of you!!!
